See Jennifer Play!
Jennifer’s First Try
A video series where Jennifer plays songs she loves or has heard for the very first time. No edits, no second tries…
Jennifer is a big fan of Britt, the lead guitarist for Vixen, and she has a new band called The Jetsetters with Tommy London from SiriusXM. She did a drum cover of their first hit.
Jenn is a HUGE fan of the British band Pale Waves. She can’t understand why the band isn’t one of the biggest in the world. This is a cut from the band’s “Smitten” album.
Jenn tries “Chop Suey!” from System of a Down.
Skillet may not love Jenn, but Jenn loves them! Here’s her first try and playing their song “Unpopular.”
Jenn always loves to find new bands and one late night an ad came on Facebook for a Canadian trio called “Show Pony.” She checked them out and they’re now one of her favorite bands. This is an attempt at their track “Lightning.”
Jenn loves Switchfoot. She’s been a fan since a friend gave her a copy of “Chem 6A”

Jenn playing “Somebody Save Me” by Cinderella at the Rock N Roll Opry at JBJ’s Nashville.
Jenn is a HUGE FAN of the band R.E.M. She would actually love to be in an R.E.M. cover band. She’s surprised how hard it is to find other musicians who love R.E.M. as much as she does…

Jennifer’s a Country girl, too.
While Jenn’s mostly known for her love of rock, she really does love country music as well. She loves the classic era, especially the outlaws, and enjoys playing hits by Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Merle, Kris and others. She also grew up in the 80s and 90s and had a long list of country artists from that time she loves ranging from Mandy Barnett to Mary-Chapin Carpenter to Lila McCann. (Ask her some time about artists like Rachel Proctor or Amy Dalley…she has a long list of singers who made great music country radio didn’t appreciate the way they should have!)
Jenn in the first of a double shot of Joy White music. Jenn is a HUGE of Joy White and while many country fans don’t know her music, it doesn’t mean it’s not brilliant country music. (Joy, if you ever want to hit the road again, I know a drummer who would love to anchor your show!)
The other half of the Joy White double shot here on Jenn’s page. A moment of honesty…she really thought one of the lines in this song was really dirty for years until someone explained it was a southern slang term which meant something else.
Brooks & Dunn are a favorite of Jenn’s and this was the very first song she ever played of theirs…so she thought it would be appropriate for this section of videos.
Mary Chapin Carpenter is one of Jenn’s favorite country artists. This is her favorite song by MCC.
Jenn has always loved Red Dirt Country and one day while she was working at a small radio station in Missouri a copy of “Under The Table and Above the Sun” was given to her…and she was hooked. She has every RK album and has been blessed to see them live a few times.
Brother Phelps was a duo made up of the Phelps brothers from the Kentucky Headhunters. Their two albums were fantastic but didn’t get the radio love they should have received.
Plus…this song was written by the absolutely amazing J.J. Cale.
